This is a recently completed work in Chhattisgarh State in which R.C.C. diaphragm walls on upstream and downstream side of the weir anchored in rock which was 22 meters deep were constructed due to sandy permeable strata in the river. The length of each diaphragm wall was 400m and maximum depth was 22 meters.
The Superstructure of weir is made of concrete with upstream and downstream aprons of concrete blocks and packed stones. It has an under sluice, canal head regulator and earthen afflux bunds. |
